Flasma recently installed one of our interactive projection floors into a local SEN (Special Educational Needs) school, our first deployment in this sector. Working in conjunction with SEN specialists we have developed a system which is beneficial in terms of learning, physical development and therapy. Through the use of sound, moving images and interactive elements the children are engaged in a unique, interseting and stimulating environment.
Both enjoyable and enriching the specially designed content stimulates the senses and encourages movement. By interacting with the characters and scenarios presented the children can be encouraged and guided, learning as they play. The versitility of the system enables it to be used for children of all ages and abilites, whether they are stood up, lying down or seated. Crucially the children can work together simulataneously; teaching them to how to co-opearate and building team spirit.
The benefits of this medium extend beyond the SEN arena though. Our specialists are already developing content to engage children of all ages. From promoting health and fitness using challenging movement activities to fostering creativity using music and painting applications the multi-use system can be used across the curriculum.
